Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) creates high-definition three-dimensional images of body structures through the combination of magnetic field, radio waves and computer technology. MRI, typically more sensitive to the imaging of the soft tissues of the body, has been invaluable in diagnosing a wide range of conditions such as cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke, and joint and musculoskeletal disorders.

The Siemens Magnetom Espree combines for the first time, a very wide 70cm bore, and very short 125 cm magnet to create the first high-field "open Bore" MR Scanner. The result is greater patient comfort, less claustrophobia and unmatched image quality. The Siemens Magnetom Symphony is an advanced high-field Magnetic Resonance Imaging system which has the ability to localize all parts of the body and allows scanning of multiple areas of the body without moving the patient on and off the table. Most revolutionary about this system is the neuro-program, which allows for more accurate assessment of neurological disease.

STANDARD USE:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging system uses a high magnetic field to gather images of structures within the body such as:

  • Neurological system: brain and spinal cord
  • Bones and joints: including vertebrae
  • Soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments
  • Breast
