Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine imaging processes images of organs and systems within the body and measures both their structure and function (i.e. metabolism). New and innovative nuclear medicine imaging is able to pinpoint molecular levels within the body. This safe, painless and cost-effective imaging often identifies abnormalities in the very early stages of a disease - previously something discovered through surgery or more expensive and invasive testing.

Nuclear Medicine exams use radiopharmaceuticals detectable by special cameras and computer applications which target a specific area of the body and produce precise images. The Siemens E.CAM Nuclear Medicine Camera can detect abnormalities in organ function, producing a high-quality, reliable image with fast image acquisition. The decreased image gathering time makes studies more comfortable and convenient for guests.

STANDARD USE:
The Nuclear Medicine system uses specialized contrast agents to gather images of metabolism and functions within the body. This is extremely helpful in the evaluation of proper function of organs and systems such as:

  • Heart and lungs
  • Kidney, liver, spleen, gall bladder
  • Bones
  • Thyroid and parathyroid
